Ebay is the worst user experience I've ever had. Every time I see something I desperately want (often vintage watches) I put a bid in, led until 1 second before the end of the auction, and then someone beats me by $5. It's like the opposite of a positive shopping experience, you see something you want, you try to buy it, you nearly get there and then... FAIL.
Then Chris at work said "get a sniper program". I shopped around and found EZ Sniper - your first 3 snipes are free and it works like a dream. It's all web based, so no downloads or config, just fill in the details and your maximum limit and it does the biz. It's super fast, easy to set-up and means I have actually won auctions.
The problem with lots of stuff is eBay is full of professional collectors (who all run using snipers) or griefers who drive prices up just to be irritating. Snipe 'em. Bosh. EZ Sniper, you've changed my life... of course now I'm skint, but the sense of satisfaction that it gives me is huge.
